Final Reflection

Over the past few weeks, I have learned a lot about the coaching process and I really tried to use that mindset as I put my LMS course together.  I wanted to make my LMS meaningful by creating something that could be used by my colleagues if they were interested in trying out something new with their students in the area of learning reflection.  I do have to figure out how we would be able to build in time to meet about how the process is working in our classrooms, as we do not currently have that sort of PLC time built into our morning meeting schedules.  It is my hope to share my finished course with the MTSS coach and our building principal in the near future and get their feedback.  I would really love the opportunity to share my course with my colleagues during our professional development time since our focus over the next 2 years is primarily on learning reflection.

I have never really thought about taking on a learning or technology coaching position, but after reading more about the way that it works, I think it might be something that I would like to possibly try.  I have always introduced new tech tools to colleagues that I know enjoy employing them in their classrooms, but we are never really afforded the time to actually discuss how they have been working with students due to the hectic schedules that we all have.  I think that taking on a different role would allow me to have the time and opportunity to help teachers who are afraid of trying out new things with their students.

I really did enjoy this course and the research that I was able to do during it.  I learned a lot about the coaching aspect of technology administration, which is an area that I knew very little about.  It was difficult for me to engage in the partner aspect of this course because of my schedule and due to issues that my family has been facing at home.  However, I did get feedback from one of my fellow “tech” gurus at work during this process which was extremely helpful.
